Nurses are to provide the proper care need by patients. Following a medication order from a physician is one most important things in inpatient care. If such an order can’t be followed, it is likely to bring harm to the patient and be bad to your nursing license. Even a simple mistake or a simple form of negligence could constitute grounds for violation and could receive a disciplinary sanction. It could be the end of your nursing career. Such cases can be handled and can be dealt with with the help of a nurse attorney. You should be aware that it is best to be ready in any way before facing the Texas Board of Nursing.

At the time of the initial incident, an RN was employed as a Registered Nurse at a hospital in Austin, Texas, and had been in that position for three (3) months,

An incident happened on or about October 20, 2019, while employed as a Registered Nurse and working with a preceptor, the RN failed to clarify an order for a nitroglycerin infusion for a patient, who was receiving a titrated dose, prior to changing the dosage level. The order for the medication contained instructions to titrate at 10 mcg/min after five minutes and also to titrate at 5 mcg/min after five minutes. The RN’s conduct was likely to injure the patient in that failure to clarify medication administration instructions could have resulted in non- efficacious treatment.

In response to the incident, the RN states that he was working with a preceptor who was present when he set up the nitroglycerin drip and confirmed that the RN had set it up correctly. The RN also states that when it came time to increase the dose, he was not given any instruction or education. The RN states that his preceptor told him to go into the room and titrate the drug while she dealt with other patients. The RN states that the order was for 1-200 mcg/hour and he increased the running dose by 5 mcg/minute. The RN states he did not guess, he increased the drip amount by what he understood to be correct (within 1-200mcg/hour). The RN states that his preceptor came in to check on him and informed him that the increase in dose was set at 5 micrograms each titration.

As a result of the RN’s conduct, he can receive a disciplinary sanction from the Texas Board of Nursing (BON). This will badly affect his RN license if the RN will not act fast before it is too late. Hiring a nurse attorney is the best option for the RN to help him solve his case.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

I consider Yong as the biggest blessing in my life for this year. While I was practicing as a professional nurse in Texas, I received an order from the BON limiting my practice. This was problematic for me since I wanted to continue working for my employer. Yong was the one who wrote a reply letter to the Board and explained my innocence. He made all the necessary arrangements, which led to the issuance of an order in my favor…

I searched for a Texas lawyer who is good at handling nursing defense cases. During my research, I came across the website of Mr. Yong. I read positive comments from his previous clients, which made me become more interested in what he does. Because of this, I tried to send a message via the website. What made me really happy was the fact that a member of his team responded right away! He was so nice to me. I wish there won’t come a time that I would require the services of a lawyer. But right now, I have to say that I will recommend his firm to those who are in need!

The nice thing about Mr. Yong is that he is an expert in the legal aspect of the nursing industry. He has this ability in helping clients to feel calm and more relaxed while the case is going on. With his efforts, he was able to dismiss the case filed against me. I was able to keep my nursing license because of him. My case was quite difficult but he won! This only shows that he is an amazing and skilled lawyer in Texas.
