False documentation and inaccurate medical records are some of the typical errors or mistakes committed by nurses. These mistakes may become grounds for nursing malpractice, and if being accused, you need the right nurse attorney to help you when facing the Texas BON.

At the time of the initial incident, she was employed as an RN at a pediatric hospital in Amarillo, Texas, and had been in that position for three (3) years and eight (8) months.

On or about November 18, 2019, while employed as an RN at a pediatric hospital in Amarillo, Texas, RN falsely documented that she administered ampicillin to a patient at 16:30 when the medication was removed from the Omnicell at 17:12 by another nurse. RN’s conduct resulted in an inaccurate medical record and was likely to injure the patient in that subsequent care givers did not have accurate information on which to base their decisions for further care.

In response to the above incident, RN states that she does not recall the occurrence and questions why she would need to falsify documentation when she has the ability to change the timing of the medication. RN states that it is very easy to get behind on certain things when you are in an intensive care unit situation as there are multiple things going on at any given time that can interfere with the flow of an assignment.

The above action constitutes grounds for disciplinary action in accordance with Section 301.452(b)(10)&(13), Texas Occupations Code, and is a violation of 22 TEX. ADMIN. CODE §217.11(1)(A),(1)(C)&(1)(D) and 22 TEX. ADMIN. CODE §217.12(1)(B),(4)&(6)(A).

However, without enough evidence to prove she’s not guilty, the RN lost the case. This is the reason why the Texas Board of Nursing placed her RN license under disciplinary action.

Do not be stressed or anxious if you find yourself in a similar situation as that of the RN mentioned above. WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

I consider Yong as the biggest blessing in my life for this year. While I was practicing as a professional nurse in Texas, I received an order from the BON limiting my practice. This was problematic for me since I wanted to continue working for my employer. Yong was the one who wrote a reply letter to the Board and explained my innocence. He made all the necessary arrangements, which led to the issuance of an order in my favor…

I searched for a Texas lawyer who is good at handling nursing defense cases. During my research, I came across the website of Mr. Yong. I read positive comments from his previous clients, which made me become more interested in what he does. Because of this, I tried to send a message via the website. What made me really happy was the fact that a member of his team responded right away! He was so nice to me. I wish there won’t come a time that I would require the services of a lawyer. But right now, I have to say that I will recommend his firm to those who are in need!

The nice thing about Mr. Yong is that he is an expert in the legal aspect of the nursing industry. He has this ability in helping clients to feel calm and more relaxed while the case is going on. With his efforts, he was able to dismiss the case filed against me. I was able to keep my nursing license because of him. My case was quite difficult but he won! This only shows that he is an amazing and skilled lawyer in Texas.
