The Texas Board of Nursing (BON) has the jurisdiction to hear and decide cases involving the practice of professional nursing in Texas. Any RN or LVN found guilty for violating the state laws and regulations as well as charged with the criminal case may be subjected to a disciplinary case if not properly defended by a criminal nurse attorney.

One of the best examples is an RN in San Antonio who accused of issuing 8,798 prescriptions to patients in an 18-month period, including “dangerous drug cocktails,” combining medications such as hydrocodone and Soma.

The San Antonio family nurse practitioner’s prescribing practices have drawn the scrutiny of the Texas Board of Nursing.

The RN has been accused by the state agency of engaging in “nontherapeutic prescribing practices.” A formal administrative charge filed by the Texas Board of Nursing in January accuses the RN of issuing 8,798 prescriptions for controlled substances to patients in an 18-month period spanning from Dec. 2, 2013, through June 7, 2015.

Those prescriptions included “dangerous drug cocktails of central nervous system depressants,” according to the administrative charge lodged by the state nursing board. Those “cocktails” or drug combinations include, but are not limited to, the painkiller hydrocodone, the muscle relaxer Soma and the anti-anxiety medication alprazolam, which is a generic form of Xanax, the charging document claims.

According to the RN, “They’re just allegations. Nothing has been proven or shown at this point. There’s not been any kind of hearing at this point, either.”

Because the RN failed to properly present and defend her case against the court. She was disciplined by violating the Texas Board of Nursing regulation.

Avoid a similar thing from happening on your end. Make sure to find the right criminal nurse attorney in case a complaint will be filed against you before the Texas Board of Nursing (BON).

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

I consider Yong as the biggest blessing in my life for this year. While I was practicing as a professional nurse in Texas, I received an order from the BON limiting my practice. This was problematic for me since I wanted to continue working for my employer. Yong was the one who wrote a reply letter to the Board and explained my innocence. He made all the necessary arrangements, which led to the issuance of an order in my favor…

I searched for a Texas lawyer who is good at handling nursing defense cases. During my research, I came across the website of Mr. Yong. I read positive comments from his previous clients, which made me become more interested in what he does. Because of this, I tried to send a message via the website. What made me really happy was the fact that a member of his team responded right away! He was so nice to me. I wish there won’t come a time that I would require the services of a lawyer. But right now, I have to say that I will recommend his firm to those who are in need!

The nice thing about Mr. Yong is that he is an expert in the legal aspect of the nursing industry. He has this ability in helping clients to feel calm and more relaxed while the case is going on. With his efforts, he was able to dismiss the case filed against me. I was able to keep my nursing license because of him. My case was quite difficult but he won! This only shows that he is an amazing and skilled lawyer in Texas.
